March 29, 2021

John has been part of the Tundra Team for nearly 3 years! He loves boating, being outdoors, and his favourite sports team is the Edmonton Oilers. John’s teammates describe him as dedicated, hard-working, and creative.

We connected with John and asked him to answer some personal questions about himself. Here is what we found:

What does your role at Tundra encompass?

I’m an Account Manager, which means I have the opportunity to interact with our clients on a daily basis.

What is one professional skill you’re currently working on?

I’m learning about acquisitions and growing my skills within Microsoft Teams.

How do you prefer to start your day?

With a tea and a good read.

Where is your happy place?

My cabin at Wizard Lake – I love being on or near the water.

What is your favourite local restaurant?

La Patrona. It’s a very authentic and delicious Mexican restaurant in Edmonton. If you go, you have to try the Tortas.

What is one thing (other than your smartphone) that you can’t leave your house without?

Probably a jug of water.

What is a skill that not many people know you possess?

I can juggle a soccer ball with my feet about 50-60 times?

Who do you look up to?

My father. He didn’t have much as he grew up, but created a good life for himself and enjoyed it to the fullest!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza – it’s so versatile!

Do you have a personal motto or mantra?

Don’t put it off until tomorrow if you can do it today.

What 3 words would you friends use to describe you?

Fun, reliable, and loyal.

What is your go-to productivity trick?

I put lists together and then tick them off one by one.

What energizes you at work?

Helping a client solve a problem.

What is one thing you do that makes you lose track of time?

Building things.

If you could give one-piece advice to a 10-year-old you, what would it be?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Where is your home-town, and where do you currently live?

I was raised in Edmonton and now live in Sherwood Park.

What do you enjoy most about working at Tundra?

The culture. The people truly care about and want to help each other.

Thank you, John, for all that you do!
