Cleaver-Brooks has closed an agreement to acquire Cheminée Lining.e, a stack manufacturer based in Terrebonne, Quebec. Adding Cheminée’s products to Cleaver-Brooks’ line further enhances our offering of a complete, functional boiler room with best-in-class efficiency and emission control.

Cleaver-Brooks historically has not focused on the exhaust gas side of the boiler room. We have allowed these products to be supplied by others in the marketplace. With continuous changes in regulations as related to building codes and emissions, the exhaust gas side of the boiler system is becoming increasingly more complex and important to the overall integrity and performance of the boiler system.

For 20 years, Cheminée has enjoyed steady growth, concentrating its efforts primarily in Quebec and the Maritimes. The company offers Cleaver-Brooks a complete line of exhaust gas products (breeching and stacks) for our broad range of boilers. Cheminée manufactures a standard line of stainless steel and AL294C pre-fabricated, insulated breeching and stack system from 6” to 48”. These products fit our full line of condensing boilers, package hot water and steam boilers and allow for complex arrangements of multiple boiler applications.

In addition, Cheminée offers engineering and fabrication of free-standing stacks and breeching systems for large applications. This product line will complement Cleaver-Brooks Engineered Boiler Systems offerings.

One of Cheminée’s goals has been to increase sales of its products throughout North America.  Our CBRA representative network offers the company a ready-to-market distribution channel to incorporate and sell products manufactured by Cheminée. The simple strategy will be to sell Cleaver-Brooks stacks on Cleaver-Brooks boilers.

Our integration of Cheminée into Cleaver-Brooks operations will begin immediately.  As we did with the NATCOM acquisition in 2001, we plan to maintain Cheminée’s current management team and personnel.

In order to expand our operation and leverage our combined strengths, Cleaver-Brooks will merge NATCOM’s operation into Cheminée’s facility in Terrebonne, Quebec over the next six to nine months. The resulting entity will operate as Cleaver-Brooks and house sales, engineering and manufacturing operations of both NATCOM and Cheminée.

We are excited about the acquisition of Cheminée as it further solidifies the Cleaver-Brooks position as a complete boiler room solutions provider that helps businesses run better every day.
