    Reporting to the Project Manager, the Document Controller would be responsible for the successful completion of a specific project. Responsible to support the project in the areas of Records Management, Engineering Documents, issuance of client documents, vendor data coordination, documentation of all changes, turnover and archiving of project records.  The successful candidate is very detail oriented by nature and has an open, honest approach to communication in a fast paced and time sensitive environment. This is a one year contract beginning in May 2013.

    Skills and Responsibilities:

    • Printing, issuing and tracking documentation
    • Receiving and tracking return documents, data entry and electronic filing
    • Receipt, registration, distribution, tracking, reporting and maintenance of project engineering records
    • Process and control engineering documents, drawings and project deliverables in accordance with established guidelines and client specific procedures
    • Plan and record document flow to and from all appropriate parties
    • Maintain an awareness of document handling techniques and be responsible for adherence to the document control procedures
    • Monitoring all drawings and documentation requirements as outlined by pre-set schedules to ensure deadlines are met
    • Tracking all changes to the original scope of the project
    • Identification of project trends and changes
    • Provide routine quality checks on all outgoing documentation in accordance with established project and Client guidelines
    • Effective and timely archiving of project records

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in computerized and manual document control management in a major project environment
    • Experience in managing records within an Electronic Document Management System
    • Experience and understanding of the principles, best practices and workflow of project records management
    • Technical experience and understanding of the life cycle of a project
    • Thorough knowledge of project documentation and engineering terminology
    • Ability to create procedures governing document control in a project environment creating procedures and systems that positively affect the success of the project
    • Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Self-starter and be able to work independently as well as part of a small and focused team
    • Manufacturing and/or fabrication experience would be an asset
