Commercial Boiler Technician
Positions available in Calgary & Edmonton
DUTIES:
1. Perform maintenance of commercial hot water and steam boilers
2. Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of commercial boilers and related equipment
3. Perform minor repairs of commercial boilers and auxiliary equipment
4. Promote sales of spare parts and identify potential opportunities for new equipment sales.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
This is a demanding field that requires skills from many disciplines. Individuals with experience are encouraged to apply, but we are willing to train the right people.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Some of the following may be suitable:
- Plumber / "A"Gasfitter with some controls experience
- Electrician / Power Engineer 4th
- HV Technician / "A" Gasfitter
- Plumber with Burner Control Systems experience
- Power Engineer 3rd with some Instrumentation experience
This is a long-term position, and factory and in-house training is provided.Some out of town travel is required, as is on-call work.

Industrial Boiler/Burner Field Technician

DUTIES:
1. Performs most complex installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and/or modifications of equipment at job site.
2. Installation, commissioning, tuning, repair and troubleshooting of various industrial burners, industrial boilers and auxiliary equipment
3. Promote sales of spare parts and identify potential opportunities for new equipment sales.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum 7 years consisting of:
- Previous commissioning experience of industrial size burners ranging from 20 to 350 mm BTU/hr firing either #2, #6 and natural gas.
- Working knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley) and FIREYE based Burner Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of combustion control i.e.: single point, parallel positioning and metered systems, loop controllers.
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good electrical troubleshooting skills
- Good English verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Gasfitter, Engineer, or equivalent.
Physical Skill and Effort:
- Work requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and closely coordinated manual skill. Work requires mostly moderate physical exertion.
- Must be capable of entry into confined spaces such as windbox and furnace through standard access door sizing.
- This position consists of extensive travel throughout Alberta, Canada and the rest of the world.
